Refund Policy

1. Overview

RuleLocked ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to fair, transparent, and straightforward billing practices. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be requested and processed for paid subscriptions to the RuleLocked platform ("the Platform").

By subscribing to any paid plan on RuleLocked, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund Policy. This policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

2. Free Tier

RuleLocked offers a free tier that provides access to a limited set of features at no cost. Because no payment is required or collected for the free tier, no refunds are applicable. Users on the free tier may upgrade to a paid plan at any time, at which point this Refund Policy will apply to all paid transactions.

3. Paid Subscriptions (Pro / Premium)

3.1 Subscription Terms

RuleLocked offers paid subscription plans (such as Pro and Premium tiers) that are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan selected at the time of purchase. All subscription fees are charged in advance at the beginning of each billing cycle.

3.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Upon cancellation:

  • Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access to all paid features until the end of the period for which you have already paid.
  • No pro-rated refunds will be issued for any unused portion of the current billing period. For example, if you cancel on day 15 of a monthly subscription, you will continue to have access until the end of that month but will not receive a refund for the remaining days.
  • No further charges will be made after the cancellation takes effect, provided that the cancellation was processed before the next billing date.
  • After the paid period expires, your account will be automatically downgraded to the free tier.

3.3 Seven-Day Money-Back Guarantee

RuleLocked offers a seven (7) day money-back guarantee for new subscribers only. This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:

  • The guarantee applies exclusively to your first-ever paid subscription to RuleLocked. If you have previously subscribed to any paid plan, cancelled, and re-subscribed, the guarantee does not apply to subsequent subscriptions.
  • To be eligible, your refund request must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days from the date of your first payment.
  • The refund will be for the full amount of the first payment, with no deductions.
  • Upon approval of a refund under this guarantee, your paid subscription will be immediately terminated and your account will be downgraded to the free tier.
  • This guarantee may be used only once per user and per household. Attempts to abuse this policy (such as creating multiple accounts) may result in denial of the refund and termination of all associated accounts.

3.4 After the Seven-Day Period

After the seven-day money-back guarantee period has expired, no refunds will be issued for the current or any prior billing period. This applies regardless of how much or how little you have used the Platform during the billing period.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund under our seven-day money-back guarantee, please follow these steps:

Include the email address associated with your RuleLocked account in your refund request.

Provide a brief explanation of the reason for your refund request. While we do not require a specific reason, your feedback helps us improve the Platform.

Our support team will review your request and respond within two (2) business days to confirm receipt and eligibility.

Approved refunds will be processed within five to ten (5-10) business days and will be returned to the original payment method used for the transaction.

Please note that processing times may vary depending on your payment provider, bank, or financial institution. RuleLocked is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors.

5. Exceptions and Refund Denial

RuleLocked reserves the right to deny refund requests under the following circumstances:

  • Abuse of the Refund Policy: If we determine, at our sole discretion, that a user is abusing the refund policy, including but not limited to repeatedly subscribing and requesting refunds, creating multiple accounts to obtain multiple refund periods, or engaging in any pattern of behavior designed to exploit the money-back guarantee.
  • Excessive Usage During the Refund Period: If a user has made extensive use of the Platform's paid features during the seven-day refund period in a manner that suggests the intent to use the service without paying, we may deny the refund request. Examples include but are not limited to: running an unusually high number of AI analyses, downloading large volumes of data, or using the Platform in a manner inconsistent with normal evaluation usage.
  • Violation of Terms of Service: If a user has violated our Terms of Service at any time, including during the refund period, we may deny the refund request and terminate the account.
  • Fraudulent Activity: If we suspect any fraudulent activity associated with the account or payment method, including but not limited to the use of stolen payment credentials, identity fraud, or any other form of financial fraud, the refund request will be denied and the matter may be referred to law enforcement authorities.
  • Late Requests: Refund requests submitted after the seven-day money-back guarantee period has expired will not be honored, except in cases of documented billing errors as described in Section 6.

6. Billing Errors

If you believe that you have been billed incorrectly, including but not limited to duplicate charges, charges after cancellation, incorrect amounts, or unauthorized charges, please contact us immediately at support@rulelocked.com.

  • Billing error claims must be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days of the date the erroneous charge was processed. Claims submitted after this period may not be eligible for correction or refund.
  • Upon receiving your claim, our billing team will investigate the matter thoroughly. This investigation may include reviewing transaction records, payment processor logs, account activity, and other relevant information.
  • If a billing error is confirmed, we will promptly correct the error and issue a full refund for the erroneous charge to the original payment method. The refund will be processed within five to ten (5-10) business days of the error confirmation.
  • We may request additional information or documentation from you to verify the billing error claim. Your cooperation in providing such information will help expedite the resolution process.

7. Account Termination

7.1 Termination by RuleLocked for Violations

If RuleLocked terminates your account due to a violation of our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or any other applicable policy, no refund will be issued for any remaining time on your subscription or any prior payments. Account termination for violations is at RuleLocked's sole discretion and may occur without prior notice.

7.2 Service Discontinuation by RuleLocked

In the unlikely event that RuleLocked discontinues the Platform or ceases operations entirely, we will provide users with reasonable advance notice (minimum thirty (30) calendar days where practicable) and issue pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of any prepaid subscription period. The pro-rated refund will be calculated based on the number of full days remaining in the current billing period as of the effective date of discontinuation.

7.3 Feature Changes or Modifications

RuleLocked reserves the right to modify, add, or remove features of the Platform at any time. Changes to features, functionality, or the scope of services do not constitute grounds for a refund unless the Platform is discontinued entirely as described in Section 7.2. We strive to enhance and improve the Platform continuously, and feature changes are a normal part of the Platform's evolution.

8. Chargebacks

We strongly encourage all users to contact RuleLocked directly at support@rulelocked.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with their bank, credit card company, or payment provider. In most cases, we can resolve billing concerns quickly and amicably through direct communication.

  • Unauthorized Chargebacks: If a user initiates a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting RuleLocked to attempt resolution, or if the chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or unsubstantiated, RuleLocked reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate the associated account.
  • Dispute Resolution: RuleLocked will respond to all chargebacks with relevant documentation, including proof of service delivery, account activity records, and evidence of the user's acceptance of this Refund Policy and our Terms of Service.
  • Account Suspension: During the chargeback investigation process, RuleLocked may suspend access to the Platform for the associated account until the dispute is resolved. If the chargeback is resolved in the user's favor, the account may be permanently closed.
  • Recovery of Costs: RuleLocked reserves the right to pursue recovery of any costs, fees, or damages incurred as a result of fraudulent or frivolous chargeback disputes, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Annual Subscriptions

For users on annual subscription plans, the following additional terms apply:

  • The seven-day money-back guarantee applies to annual subscriptions on the same terms as monthly subscriptions (first-time subscribers only, within seven days of first payment).
  • After the seven-day guarantee period, no refunds will be issued for annual subscriptions, including partial or pro-rated refunds for unused months.
  • Cancellation of an annual subscription will take effect at the end of the annual billing period. The user retains full access to paid features until the end of the period for which they have paid.
  • Annual subscriptions may not be downgraded to monthly subscriptions mid-term. Users wishing to switch to monthly billing must cancel their annual subscription and re-subscribe to a monthly plan after the annual term expires.

10. Changes to This Refund Policy

RuleLocked reserves the right to modify, amend, or update this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy on the Platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes through email or a prominent notice on the Platform.

Changes to this Refund Policy will not apply retroactively to transactions completed before the effective date of the change. Your continued use of the Platform and maintenance of a paid subscription after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Refund Policy.
